Drug and Alcohol Treatment
APM was the first agency in Philadelphia to provide treatment for drug and alcohol rehabilitation designed specifically for the Latino population. By providing quality care with knowledge, skill and bicultural sensitivity, our bilingual counseling staff enables us to meet the special needs of the Puerto Rican/Latino addicted and alcoholic population.
Services include assessments, medical and psychiatric evaluation, individual counseling, group therapy, recreation, referrals to hospitals and in-patient programs when appropriate, and services for a special population of ex-offenders. In 2005, Proyecto Nueva Vida and Proyecto Conexiones served a total of 419 clients and delivered an important anti-drug, anti-alcohol message to over 10,000 people during outreach presentations and fairs. While these services target the Latino population, they are available to anyone in need, regardless of race, age, religion, ethnicity, gender or sexual preference.
