APM services are divided into three (3) divisions:

Health Services Programs
With four clinics east of Broad Street, APM offers residents in these North Philadelphia neighborhoods a full spectrum of bilingual and culturally sensitive physical and behavioral health services, from family medicine, to drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and the monitoring of elder health and medication protocols.

Our dedicated staff also administers care at a home for special needs patients suffering from HIV/AIDS or serious mental disorders requiring homebound, supervised care.

In addition, we offer specialized counseling and medical care for young families as they navigate the challenges of developing healthy lifestyles and preventive health care regimes.  To accommodate hectic family schedules, some of our programs offer convenient weekend hours; all accept Medicare, HMO and Medical Assistance.

Human Services Programs
Our Human Services department offers an extraordinarily wide array of programs designed to help people of all ages through all of life’s crises. In addition, APM also provides services that offer educational opportunities to neighborhood children and enhance the quality of life. We are equipped to support young families with childcare concerns by providing parenting skills. When housing or domestic trouble threatens family stability, we offer aid through our Family Emergency Shelter.

Our Head Start and Day Care Centers provide a safe and nurturing environment where young, working parents can leave their children with confidence. The Early Intervention Program provides state-of-the-art services to help children with special needs overcome physical and emotional challenges to experience an everyday ease and joy of living.  All of our services are bilingual and staffed by some of the City’s most caring and knowledgeable health care professionals.

Community and Economic Development
As a leader in community development, APM has contributed to sweeping changes in neighborhood policies and programs throughout Eastern North Philadelphia.  Utilizing a comprehensive holistic approach to revitalization, APM has targeted the social, economic and ecological needs in the area bordered by Temple University and the American Street Empowerment Zone.

APM’s unique strategy targets the needs of a community comprised of both homeowners and renters.  In recent years, the construction of new business and housing developments has successfully transformed this urban locale into a bustling community, generating renewed interest in the area.  Through housing and greening efforts, the area has been substantially revitalized.

APM has constructed more than 210 affordable neighborhood rental units.  As the developer for Pradera Homes, it generated 58 units of homeownership for low- and moderate-income families.  Soon, through Pradera Phase II, APM will break ground on 53 additional owner-occupied units.

Along with Gateway/Boriquen Plaza, a 44,000-square-foot supermarket and commercial core, APM manages more than $50 million in development projects.  Together with the Philadelphia Horticultural Society and the City of Philadelphia, the Vacant Land Stabilization Program was launched to address blighted lots.  APM’s innovative Blockscape Program assists families with basic systems repairs; and a partnership with the Jewish Employment and Vocational Service agency has resulted in a homeownership maintenance program for first-time homebuyers. APM’s newest project is the Hope Partnership School, a 25,000-square-foot educational institution at 8th and Berks Streets.
